Technical SEO audits: the issues we find most often

June 26, 2026 · 4 min read

When a technically strong company has weak search visibility, the cause is rarely a lack of content. It's usually something structural, quietly blocking search engines from crediting content that already exists.

The most common issue we find is duplicate or conflicting canonical signals — the same content reachable through multiple URLs, with no clear signal to search engines about which one matters. Search engines respond by splitting authority across all of them, which looks, from the outside, like content that just isn't ranking.

The second is render-blocking JavaScript that hides content a person can see but a crawler struggles to reliably index — common on sites built with heavy client-side frameworks and no server-side rendering fallback.

The third is slow or inconsistent Core Web Vitals, which affect both ranking and the number of visitors who actually stay to read what you published — a slow page loses people before your content gets a chance to work.

None of these fixes require a content strategy overhaul. They require someone to actually look at how a search engine experiences the site, not just how a person with a fast connection and a modern browser does.
