Quote requests and structured negotiation for a home services marketplace
The challenge
Customers described the same job to several providers by phone or chat, received quotes in different formats, and had no easy way to compare them or negotiate. Providers quoted without seeing the whole job, which led to price changes on arrival and disputes about scope.
Our approach
We built a request flow where a customer posts a work description with photos, preferred timing and a budget range, and interested providers respond with itemized quotes. Customers compare quotes side by side, negotiate through structured counter-offers inside the request, and accept one, which locks the scope, price and appointment. Every offer and change is recorded in the job.
- Replaced phone-and-chat quoting with comparable, itemized quotes
- Reduced misunderstandings about scope by locking price and scope on acceptance
- Gave customers and providers a clear history of every offer and counter-offer
- Let providers quote with the full job description and photos in front of them

A bilingual web and mobile marketplace connecting Saudi households with trusted service providers
Households in Saudi Arabia looked for plumbers, electricians, cleaners, air-conditioning technicians and other home service providers through word of mouth, social media groups and classified listings. Quality and prices were unpredictable, there was no record of who had done what, and providers had no reliable way to win work beyond their own circle.
Home ServicesAppointments, code-based check-in and sign-off, and payments for a home services marketplace
Once a job was agreed, everything else still happened off the platform: appointment reminders by phone, no proof that a provider had arrived, no clear moment when the work was accepted, and payment settled in cash or by transfer, with disputes over whether the job had really been done.
